Dr. Jodie Smith earned her DVM at Ohio State University in 1999. She practiced small animal medicine in New York City for 24 years in the same practice creating lifelong bonds with many furbabies and their parents. She recently moved to the Clearwater area with her husband, son, labrador, and 2 kitties. Over her career, she has focused on internal medicine and oncology. Her more recent interests are ultrasound, pain management with cold laser utilization, elder care and palative medicine. She is CAETA certified. She believes in multi modal approach to care utilizing prevention, nutrition, supplements, and therapies such as cold laser, TPEMF, at home PT and much more. She is patient-focused creating a treatment plan that works best for each individual patient. Her internal medicine focus is the perfect compliment to Dr. Dorian's surgical focus. In her off-time, she loves reading, running in 5K charity events, and nature watching. Dr. Smith is looking forward to making Metzler VH and its amazing staff, patients, and clients a part of her new Florida family!
